When the client specifies the requirements for the product

A Custom Marine Product is based on class notations, list of regulatory requirements or equivalent.

The requirements are specified in a technical specification (RFQ or equivalent) and contains a list of rules and regulations (International, Classification Societies, Navy, Military, and Industry standards, etc.).

MARREG can assist in identifying the relevant regulations, rules and standards, and guide to the possible impact on the equipment.

Standard Marine Product

When manufacturing of standard maritime product ("off-the-shelf")

MARREG can assist in clarifying:

First of all, which regulations, rules and standards are applicable.

Then follows what is required to obtain the necessary approvals from relevant authorities and flag states.

It is also considered whether to pursue a case-by-case approval or a Type Approval, the prerequisites for achieving either (e.g., manufacturing quality control requirements), and any potential consequences for the equipment design.
